General
Q: Where are you located, and what are your hours?
I work out of Sherman Oaks, CA, and business hours are generally 8:00am-4:00pm M-F, but all work is done by appointment only. For more information, please view the Contact page.
Q: Do you do on-site work, or do I have to bring my computer to you?
Both! Some types of work can be done fairly quickly on-site, while other more complex/time-consuming jobs must be done in-shop. Click here to view a map of where I’m located.
Q: Are Macs ok, or do you only work on PCs?
I work primarily with PCs, but I also work on Macs. Please visit my Mac Repair page for more info.
Services
Q: In addition to computer repair, what other services do you provide?
If it’s computer-related, I probably do it! View a complete list of computer services.
Q: Do you provide computer services for businesses, as well as for individuals?
Yes – most of my business comes from individual home users, but I provide consulting services and support for small business as well (and for a fraction of the cost of an in-house IT guy)
Q: Do you sell computers or computer parts?
The short answer is “no” – I am not a retailer, and do not sell merchandise. However, I do build custom PCs (charging only labor costs to assemble them), and I have a re-seller’s permit that allows me to purchase inexpensive replacement parts for my clients.
Q: I have a computer problem and I need help fixing it myself – do you provide telephone support?
No – although I do my best to answer questions and give accurate estimates on the phone, I do not provide “do-it-yourself” telephone technical support. Why waste your time on the phone, when you can just bring in your computer for a free consultation and estimate?
Pricing and Terms
Q: How much do you charge?
All computer services are billed at a flat hourly rate. Click here to view rates and pricing info.
Q: So then how much will it cost to fix my computer?
I don’t know, I need to look at it first! But seriously, it’s very difficult to correctly diagnose the cause of a broken machine or give an estimate via phone or e-mail. Direct observation and tests are necessary, and once the problem has been identified, I can provide a recommendation and an accurate repair estimate.
Q: Ok, I have your estimate but would like a second opinion. Will you honor that estimate’s price in the future?
Yes – all quotes on prices for computer repair services are good for a total of (5) business days.
Q: I have an estimate from another computer service company. Will you beat their price?
Yes – as the owner a sole proprietor business, I have complete control over my prices. I can (and will) beat any competitor’s written estimate or price.
Q: What do you do if a customer is displeased with their service?
Customer satisfaction is my number one priority. If for any reason a client finds that he/she is unhappy with a service I’ve provided, I will do everything I can to make it right for them, including follow-up service at no charge. Additionally, all parts used in repair are guaranteed for a period of (90) days after the date of service, and will be replaced at no charge if they fail within this period.
